The Academic year 2016-2017 is the first of the Double Degree’s exchange between the faculty of Interior Design and College of Design and Innovation, Tongji University. For this reason I’m posting my experience in DEDODESIGN studio, in which I did the internship that is focused on interior and architecture.
DEDODESIGN Architects (DDA) is an award-winning collective of architects, makers and creatives based in Hong Kong, London, Shanghai and Venice. The practice has an extensive experience of working in many languages and cultural contexts across Asia, Europe and North America. Since its foundation in 2001, DDA has developed a diverse international body of work of all scales including cultural, civic, residential, commercial as well as master planning projects. Its institutional clients include the government of the Chinese province of Anhui and the French and Portuguese governments in Shanghai.
DDA has also worked with a diverse range of global and multinational corporations including Maserati, Ferrari, General Electrics, ABB, Groupon, iGuzzini and l’Oreal. Committed to design innovation and new practices in architecture, DDA’s work explores the relationship between ecologies and technologies. It strives to implement new forms of urbanism in Shanghai and other megacities. Its research based living architecture and urbanism project EDIBLE CITIES, showcased at Shanghai’s Trans-design and Shanghai Art and Design 2016 at West Bund, has received numerous national and international accolades.
The studio is not very big, for this reason I had the possibility to work in an international team made up professional people that have different backgrounds. During my internship I collaborated to the development of all the phases of the projects, from the concept ideas until technical drawings, developing also from the point of view of communication.
